I just read an article on Ben Christensen over on WakeWorld.  Man this kid is a BALLER.  Ben knows what wakeboarding is all about and isn’t afraid to tell you how to live the dream.  Here’s a clip and a vid from the article:

The street aesthetics of the skate scene are combined with a home atmosphere by combining concrete and wood. Concrete walls mould into the floor and concrete turns into wood to create a ramp partition with the kitchen. In that way, says the architect, somebody can flow from one space to the other, skating or walking.

The architect wanted the ‘skateboarding’ element to be more than simply putting a mini ramp in the living room. Rather, the ramp, the bowl and all the interpretations of those terms would actually become the building elements for this space. It is intended to be a ‘ramp house’ and not a ‘house with a ramp’. The Standerd is constantly putting out great content with their quarterly publications (which you can now read online for free). A while back this photo taken by Roman Rusinov was posted to their blog. I keep checking it out and figured it’s time to link it up.

Here’s what Roman had to say:

Aw well, “Just visiting,” as it says in the magazine caption about this shot; and that we did. Water level was kinda low so half of the crew who came with left early, but we decided to try it out anyway. You never know what to expect behind a fence like that (if you remember my tale about the dead rat). It’s always exciting to go for it despite the warning. It’s the kind of “no trespassing” sign that you want to read as: “Please, come in.” I was just following along behind the guys. Good thing I took my RB67 out so I could snap a couple frames of the trespassing act.

Question: So what do pro riders do when they aren’t behind the boat?
Answer: Lounge at the Florida Keys while strange Oakley people take pictures of them.

This was just another awesome oakley trip that i was lucky enough to go
on, we stayed at a 5 star resort called hawks cay with 5 pools, its own
marina, and really nice everything. the first 2 days was mainly
lifestyle shots. being a pro rider, and NOT a model, it is somewhat
weird having a crew of people surrounding you with flashes and big
reflectors and cameras wanting you to “strike a pose” while people that
are just doing their everyday thing, walk past staring at you. im
definitely not complaining because i have reaped the benefits of doing
these shoots before. i had a full page head shot in oakleys sunglass
catalogue wearing the oil rigs this year, and not to mention my 08
hijinx ad on a 20 foot wall inside of the orlando international
airport, as well as images and front window posters in 340+ oakley
stores world wide and apparel catalogues. so it definitly was not my
first time doing this sort of thing. hopefully this last shoot will
land me in everything mentioned before……………. man i have a kick ass
